These vintageĀ earringsĀ are from the studio of William Spratling of Taxco. William Spratling was the first to produce silver jewelry for the tourist trade in Taxco, Mexico. Spratling designs have been featured in numerous museum publications and exhibitions. This design was originally created during the first design period of William Spratling which was from 1931-1946. Hands are frequently featured in jewelry from Mexico and symbolize friendship.

Details: Earrings are 1 1/8 inches in height and are almost 1/2 inches wide. Weight for the pair is 13 grams or 0.5 ounces. Markings are "WS Spratling Made In Mexico" and "Spratling Silver". The hallmark on these earrings was used from 1940-1944. This was during the first design period from 1931-1946. The earrings have their original screwbacks.
