This vintage stylized pin / pendant with guitar motif from Taxco was produced during the Eagle mark period from 1948 until 1978. Most likely this set was created during the 1950’s. The creative use of tortoise shell and abalone shell inlay accentuates the design beautifully and is not available in today’s jewelry. The tortoise shell inlay is pre-ban. The designs produced by the artist “BJ” are identical copies of pieces sold in the Damaso Gallegos studio of Taxco. The studio of Damaso Gallegos was established in Taxco in 1940.
