Striking vintage Mexican silver necklace and earrings are a fabulous example of 1940’s craftsmanship and design from Taxco. This design has been attributed to Hector Aguilar who created designs during the golden age of Taxco silver jewelry production.

Details: Necklace has a wearable length of 16 inches. Width is 3/4 inches at back clasp. Front pendants with dangles have a height of 1 1/4 inches. Weight for necklace is 1.9 ounces. Markings are "Mexico Sterling". The necklace is composed of sterling silver and has a simple hook closure. Earrings have a drop length of 1 1/4 inches from top to tip of dangles. Width is 7/8 inches. Weight for the pair is 0.4 ounces. Markings are "Silver Mexico". The earrings have the original screwbacks for nonpierced ears. Both the necklace and earrings have been created using the technique of repousse which is seldom seen in today's Mexican jewelry due to time and training requirements. The necklace and jewelry are in excelllent vintage condition with no known damage. Original patina is intact. The set predates 1948 when the Eagle markings system went into effect in Mexico.
