This distinctive vintage Taxco bracelet has a pre-Columbian monkey motif. William Spratling was the first in Taxco, Mexico to utilize pre-Columbian design from the Aztec codex or scrolls in his jewelry. This artisan was definitely influenced by the early Spratling designs. The bracelet dates from the 1930’s.

The bracelet is composed of fine silver which exceeds the silver content of sterling silver and copper. The bracelet has a pin in barrel closure. The bracelet has no known damage and has original patina.
