This striking modernist bangle bracelet was originally designed by Hector Aguilar of the Taller Borda studio in Taxco, Mexico. The bracelet features a central pin clasp with a hinge for ease when fastening the bracelet. Hector Aguilar worked for William Spratling prior to establisrehing his own studio in 1939. Hector Aguilar designs have been featured in numerous museum publications and exhibitions and was a noted designer during the golden age of Taxco silver jewelry production. This bracelet design is circa 1955 and is featured on page 64 of “Silver Masters of Taxco” by Penny Morrill.

Details: The bracelet has an internal circumference of 7 3/4 inches. The bracelet is 2 inches wide in the front and 1 1/4 inches wide in the back at the hinge. Weight is 74 grams or 2.63 ounces. Markings are "Maria Belen 925". The bracelet is composed of sterling silver & amethyst. Closure is with a pin clasp. The bracelet is oval in shape to conform to wrist anatomy making the bangle bracelet very comfortable to wear. This is illustrated in view #4.
