This iconic necklace design created by Hector Aguilar of the Taller Borda is timeless. The necklace has been recreated by Maestro Jose Luis Flores with full attention to detail and quality. Sr. Luis is a master silversmith and is the last surviving silversmith still producing who actually worked with Hector Aguilar. The title of maestro or master silversmith was not given lightly at the Taller Borda. This design is documented in the book “Silver Masters of Mexico” on page 130.

Sr. Luis has placed the original Hector Aguilar hallmark on this piece as he was given permission to do by Sr. Aguilar prior to his death.

Hector Aguilar Design Spiral Wire Sterling Silver & Amethyst Bangle Bracelet
This striking modernist bangle bracelet was originally designed by Hector Aguilar of the Taller Borda studio in Taxco, Mexico. The bracelet features a central pin clasp with a hinge for ease when fastening the bracelet. Hector Aguilar worked for William Spratling prior to establisrehing his own studio in 1939. Hector Aguilar designs have been featured in numerous museum publications and exhibitions and was a noted designer during the golden age of Taxco silver jewelry production. This bracelet design is circa 1955 and is featured on page 64 of “Silver Masters of Taxco” by Penny Morrill.
