This exquisite and rare fine silver necklace was originally produced by Hector Aguilar of the Taller Borda in Taxco, Mexico during the golden age of silver jewelry production. The necklace has been reproduced by a master silversmith with full attention to detail and quality in fine .970 silver using the technique of repousse. Repousse jewelry is seldom produced today due to time and training requirements. This necklace is featured in the book “William Spratling and the Mexican Silver Renaissance” by Penny Morrill on page 165. This necklace is absolutely stunning and sure to draw attention and compliments when worn.

Details: Necklace has a wearable length of 17 1/2 inches and is 3/4 inches wide excluding the cascabeles and 1 inch wide with cascabeles. Weight is a substantial 7.0 ounces. Markings are "970 Mexico". The necklace is composed of fine .970 silver which is a 97% pure silver versus sterling silver with a 92.5% silver content. The necklace has a simple hook closure.
